Labrinth thinks he's penned the next James Bond theme tune.
The rapper has been hard at work crafting his second album and
says one of the more experimental songs would make the perfect
soundtrack to Sam Mendes' next chapter in the spy franchise.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: ''I've been buying a lot of
equipment like microphones. I'm a geek at the moment. I've got a James
Bond-themed record on my album as well. If they want it for the new film
then they can have it.
''I've ordered an orchestra to record one of the songs I'm
putting together, which is expensive. It's a really cool record and I
can't wait for people to hear it. Creatively I think this one is going
to be on the next level. You're going to hear more layers. I'm really
hoping for it to be out this year.''
The chart-topping star is also leading the Project Noise
campaign, which letting fans upload their sounds which he can then
incorporate into his own tracks.
Apart from some rather risqué recordings, Labrinth intends to use
as many submissions as possible to make his new tracks sound more
layered.
He said: ''I think pretty much everything can be used in some
way, but maybe don't send me a recording of a sex tape. I don't need
that - let's keep it censored. I like to think people are going to go
the extra mile to make something really cool.
''I think you fall in love with music in layers. When I was a kid
I listened to the surface of it. I didn't know about melody or the
beat. When you start to produce music you need more kicks out of it.''
